After completing your payment, PayPal will return you to your member details page, where you’ll see your username and password (which you can change). If you’re using someone elses PayPal account please be aware of this, and ask them to forward this e-mail to you.

Payment Methods: How do I pay and is it secure?

You can pay via PayPal using a credit/debit card; in most countries you do NOT need a PayPal account to pay by card. On request I'll consider payment via a snail-mail cheque in the UK.

Security is a top priority for me, and I've taken a number of measures to ensure the security of your data. I have 256 bit encryption on all pages where you enter data, and when you click the checkout button on this page, all the data that I send to PayPal is encrypted for your security.

PayPal is the world's largest online payment processor, and has the highest level of security available. To be sure, when you arrive at my secure PayPal payment page, check that the address bar is green and begins with "https://www.paypal.com". These samples are a good guide, although it may look a little different depending on your web browser:

If you are based in the USA and don't have a credit/debit card, why not get a Visa Pre Paid Card? Similar products are available in many parts of the world - Google for "pre paid cards" to find options in your area.

Currency: What currencies can I pay with?

All transactions are in US Dollars. Your credit card issuer will convert the USD amount to your own currency when you get your credit card statement.

Guarantee: Is there is a guarantee?

Yes, there is a guarantee. It's a 30 days risk-free 'Smiley Guarantee' This means I'll refund your money with a smile if you decide my stories are not what you wanted. The smile is important. If you don't feel my stories work for you, I will issue a prompt refund. All you have to do is e-mail or call me.

Compatibility: Can I view the site on Windows, Mac, and Linux?

Yes. The site has been tested in many web browsers on all three platforms and works properly in all with the exception of Internet Explorer prior to version 7 (IE7). If you are using and old version of IE, please upgrade to a modern browser and improve your life on the web Read what Google has to say about older browsers here

The web browsers that will give you the best experience are Internet Explorer 7 or later, Firefox 3.0 or later, Opera 9 or later, and Safari 4. Please be aware that some people have experienced problems with the early release of Safari 5, so try and find version 4 for the time being.

Support: Will you be around to help me if I have a problem?

If you have any questions you can e-mail me and I'll do the best I can to help you. I do respond to e-mail as fast as possible, and you can call if you prefer. So yes, I'm around.

If I join, will I be paying $7.99 every month/quarter/year?

No! Membership is a one-off payment; there are no further payments to make.

I'm tempted to join, but don't know who you are so how can I trust you?

You can read more about me on my About Me page, and you can read about the measures in place to protect you here. If you still need to know more, just send me an email, and I'll do my best to put you at ease.

What are you going to do with my precious credit card and personal information?

I do not collect any of your payment information when you make a purchase. PayPal™, the world's largest online payment processor, handles all transactions on my behalf, and I do not receive any information relating to your credit/debit card, bank account, or PayPal™ account.

The only items of personal information I receive and store are your email address and your name, and they are stored in a secure database in a secure datacentre, and are seperate from this website. You can use a false name if you like - I won't know!

How do I know that my information will be secure?

The only personal information that I receive about you is your email address and your name. These are sent to me by PayPal™ when you make a purchase from this site, and they are stored in a secure database in a secure datacentre, and are seperate from this website. I guarantee never to sell, rent or give away these details.

Are you a serious business or is this just a hobby site?

Like many businesses, Regency Romance Novels started very small and has been growing over the years. It is now a busy website, well-ranked in all the search engines, and hosted in a secure business-quality data centre in North America. This is obviously more costly than hosting the site on a PC under the desk, but I think you deserve it.

I plan for my stories to be available online for future generations too!

I read a lot about online scams; how can I be sure I'm being sent to the real PayPal site?

When you are redirected to PayPal, check the URL. It should always begin with "https://www.paypal.com". If it begins with anything else, please Contact Me for advice before attempting to join.

If you are using a modern browser, such as Internet Exporer 7, Firefox 3, or Opera 9.5, the browser should confirm that you have reached a genuine site by the way it displays the URL.

Internet Exporer 7 displays like this:

Firefox 3 displays like this:

Opera 9.5 displays like this:

Can I get your books in print?

Not yet, although you will be able to in the future. Publishing online means that everyone wins except those who do not have Internet access (and the publishers!)

How frequently do new stories come online?

It depends how fast I’m writing and the length of the story. It can be anything from three months to a year.
