Frequently asked questions

Most of the questions I get asked are listed here, but if you have a question that isn’t listed, please feel free to Contact Me

How do I read your stories after joining? Do I have to download anything?

You read all my stories online in your web browser; you don't have to download anything.

When you join, you'll immediately receive an automated email with your username and password. This will enable you to login via the Members Login Page link on the menu, and read the FULL versions of ALL my stories as many times as you want. Membership is for life!

If I join, will I be paying $7.99 every month/quarter/year?

No! Membership is a one-off payment; there are no further payments to make.

I'm tempted to join, but don't know who you are so how can I trust you?

You can read more about me on my About Me page. If you still need to know more, just send me an email, and I'll do my best to put you at ease.

What are you going to do with my precious credit card and personal information?

I do not collect any of your payment information when you make a purchase. PayPal™, the world's largest online payment processor, handles all transactions on my behalf, and I do not receive any information relating to your credit/debit card, bank account, or PayPal™ account.

The only items of personal information I receive and store are your email address and your name, and they are stored in a secure database in a secure datacentre, and are seperate from this website. You can use a false name if you like - I won't know!

How can I contact you (and be assured I'll reach someone) if I have a problem after joining?

You can email me from the Contact Me page, and I or my husband will reply as soon as we can. The time it takes to reply is dependent upon the time of day and many other variables. If one of us is at home and near a PC we'll reply in minutes, the longest it will take is eight hours if we've just gone to bed! If we cannot resolve a problem by email, we'll suggest that we call you and talk through the problem. If a problem cannot be resolved, I'll refund your money in full.

How do I know that my information will be secure?

The only personal information that I receive about you is your email address and your name. These are sent to me by PayPal™ when you make a purchase from this site, and they are stored in a secure database in a secure datacentre, and are seperate from this website. I guarantee never to sell, rent or give away these details.

Are you a serious business or is this just a hobby site?

Like many businesses, Regency Romance Novels started very small and has been growing over the years. It is now a busy website, well-ranked in all the search engines, and hosted in a secure data centre in the City of London. This is obviously more expensive than hosting the site on a PC under the desk, but I think you deserve it.

I can’t figure out how to use PayPal. Help!

You’re not alone. There’s a special page here to help you with the process.

I read a lot about online scams; how can I be sure I'm being sent to the real PayPal site?

When you are redirected to PayPal, check the URL. It should always begin with "https://www.paypal.com". If it begins with anything else, please Contact Me for advice before attempting to join.

If you are using a modern browser, such as Internet Exporer 7, Firefox 3, or Opera 9.5, the browser should confirm that you have reached a genuine site by the way it displays the URL.

Internet Exporer 7 displays like this:

Firefox 3 displays like this:

Opera 9.5 displays like this:

Can I get your books in print?

Not yet, although you will be able to in the future. Publishing online means that everyone wins except those who do not have Internet access (and the publishers!)

How frequently do new stories come online?

Approximately every three to six months, depending on how fast I’m writing and the length of the story.
